the crane-fly stepped over the cracks�


                                           the crane-fly stepped over the cracks
          like a child at play

                                    no i imagined
       the step  
                                                                  the child
         played it safe

                          ignore the child 
                                                    even as a metaphor
                                   he would step over
   the cracks if

                    but one crack inside his head he
cannot
                                        when he saw her coming he would
        not at all
                    the problem is that this poem is untrue
                                                                    there was no crane-fly
                  cracks or crack child he or she

                                                         the problem is that this poem is

                         who is in love but cannot say it straight
                     or maybe the problem is
